Peter Haddad, AO retired from the Australian Army in 2005 at the rank of Major General, after a distinguished career in logistics spanning 38 years.
As a senior officer he held policy and management positions at Defence headquarters and Army headquarters in Canberra. General Haddad commanded Army Logistic Command and Support Command where he had responsibility for the logistic support for Army, Navy and Air Force units. His final appointment was Commander, Joint Logistics Command for all Australian Defence Force operations.
Following his retirement from the Army, General Haddad was engaged by the Commonwealth Games Corporation as Logistics Manager, planning and delivering logistic support to the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games.
He was the Chair of the Victorian Veteran’s Council for eight years and during the same period, was engaged by the Victorian Government as the Strategic Adviser on defence industries and Head of the Defence Industry Unit.
General Haddad held the position of Adjunct Professor and Chair of the School Advisory Board for the School of Business, Information Technology and Logistics at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University from 2005 to 2019.
Currently, he is the principal of a consultancy company providing advice and support to the defence industry. He also sits on a number of boards in the not-for-profit sector.
