A Geelong company has been awarded a $32 million defence contract to deliver training simulators for the Boxer 8x8 Combat Reconnaissance Vehicle.
The Deakin University-based Universal Universal Motion Simulation will produce the simulators to be used to provide training for the armoured vehicles which are being delivered by Rheinmetall Defence Australia.
The $32 million contract, which is set to create 12 jobs, will cover the delivery of six simulators, capable of training army drivers in a range of vehicles, including the Boxer 8x8 CRV, M1A1 Abrams Main Battle Tank, and future Infantry Fighting Vehicles.
