The Victorian Government welcomes the release of the Request for Tender for LAND 400 Phase 3 – Mounted Close Combat Capability. This multi-billion dollar project will significantly enhance the Australian Army’s capability with a fleet of up to 450 modern Infantry Fighting Vehicles and 17 Manoeuvre Support Vehicles.
LAND 400 is Australia’s largest ever land military vehicle procurement program and as with Phase 2, there will be significant opportunities for defence SMEs to contribute.
Victoria has exceptional expertise in the design, development and manufacture of military vehicles for Australian and overseas customers, and the Victorian Government looks forward to working with the tenderers to identify and maximise opportunities for our defence supply chain in LAND 400 Phase 3.
Victoria’s manufacturing sector is a powerhouse of the state’s economy - it contributes around $27.7 billion annually and employs more than 283,000 people. Over the last three decades, Victorian workers have designed, built and upgraded thousands of military vehicles that have successfully served with Australian troops in Iraq, Afghanistan and East Timor, including the world class Hawkei and Bushmaster vehicles.
Opportunities for defence supply chain businesses to participate in the process are outlined in the tender documents, which can be downloaded from the AusTender website.
Industry briefing sessions are scheduled for next month, with dates to be announced shortly.
