Victorian Defence Simulation Trade Mission to the USA including I/ITSEC 2017

The Victorian Government invites you to participate in a defence simulation trade mission to Washington DC and Orlando, Florida, from 26 November - 1 December 2017.

The mission includes:

  • One day of targeted business meetings in Washington DC
  • Two days at I/ITSEC, the world's largest modelling, simulation and training conference for people in the defence, security and advanced manufacturing sectors
  • Two days of targeted business meeting in Florida
  • A Victorian Government sponsored networking reception
  • On ground support
  • Pre and post-mission support

Defence Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) in Trusted Autonomous Systems

The Defence CRC in Trusted Autonomous Systems was launched in July 2017. As a collaborative program between academia, publicly funded research agencies and industry (particularly small to medium enterprises), it represents an opportunity for Victorian defence-related research organisations. The Defence Science Institute is coordinating a proposal for relevant Australian researchers to have a significant role in this CRC. 

AustalFassmer partnership Melbourne industry briefing

On 14 July, the AustalFassmer partnership held its Melbourne industry briefing for current and potential suppliers in relation to the SEA 1180 project. Austal representatives discussed the AustalFassmer partnership and the opportunities available to Victorian SMEs.  Companies that would like to register their interest, capabilities, products and services and contact details with Austal Australia should complete the online enquiry form on Austal’s secure CPORT Supplier Capability Portal.

Future Industries Sector Growth Program

A reminder that grants of up to $1 million are available to undertake Victorian-based projects which align with one or more of the Victorian Government's identified Future Industries, including Defence Technologies. Further details are available on the Business Victoria website.
